Guidelines for Freshman Writing Coaching:
- Coaching is limited to FMU students currently enrolled in freshman courses.
- Coaching is to help you with your writing skills, not to help you with your homework assignment . Coachess will not complete assignments for you.
- Coaches will read your work and help you to improve your writing skills.
- Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Students and coaches are expected to adhere to appointment policies.
- Students and coaches are encouraged to share feedback and concerns with the Academic Support Coordinator.

Writing Coach Responsibilities are to:
- Identify errors and the relevant concepts to coach you how to correct your own paper.
- Address grammar and structure concerns.
- Evaluate usage of citation styles.
- Clarify primary concepts & suggest additional support.
- Notify your instructor that you received writing assistance through the coach.
- When a potential academic integrity (plagiarism, academic dishonesty, etc.) concern is identified, the coach will document the problem areas return the paper to the student, CC: the instructor of the course and the Academic Support Coordinator.
